At the end of 2007 NYRA entered into a long-term management agreement with NRRC. NYRA currently manages the Peter J. Sharp Boathouse on the Harlem River and is building a new facility on the Passaic River. NYRA is a not-for-profit organization working primarily with high school students while promoting the sport to the greater community through supporting regattas and adult rowing programs. Thomas P. Curry, a wonderful and charismatic person, is the executive director. Thomas rowed for St. Joseph’s University and Penn A.C. in the late 1980’s.

So, what’s the game plan for NRRC? Simply, NYRA plans on re-invigorating every aspect of rowing at the New Rochelle Rowing Club. Right now we have school programs in the spring, as well as adult learn-to-row classes and a small summer camp. Over the long-term, NYRA and NRRC aim to completely rehabilitate the boathouse.

Also, being offered for the first time anywhere, once becoming a member at NRRC, you will have the use of all three clubs in the Tri-State area.

· Peter J. Sharp Boathouse located on the Harlem River at the foot of Dyckman Street in Manhattan, New York

· Lake Dundee Rowing Center located on the Passaic River in Elmwood Park, New Jersey

· New Rochelle Rowing Club located on the Long Island Sound in Hudson Park, New Rochelle, New York.

Depending on the weather, wind or just where you are going to be for the day, you can choose to go to any one of these clubs and use the equipment at your leisure.
